A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty... Five Places to Visit
Interested people may visit Sri Ramakrishna Math at Belur, Dakshineshwar Kali Mandir, across the Ganges, West Bengal and at Mayavati in Uttarakhand to understand what spiritual powers these two divine personalities had. They may also visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra at Kanyakumari, a memorial dedicated to Swamiji by the Nation.
Sri Aurobindo Ashram is situated at Puducherri (Pondicherry) near Chennai (Madras). The place is also a mine of spiritual power. Visit the place and stay for a few days to absorb a little of that spiritual energy. It has the power to transform your life.

We are guided by knowledge, inspired by examples, and molding our life through social values. While our instincts are blind, I call it a Faultline of evolution, and the only purpose of it is to continue the species. Unless this instinct is controlled by intelligence and social & cultural values, we tend to falter. There are many people who not only conduct themselves with wisdom, but also direct society, government, and industry towards a brighter future and lead the evolution to its higher goals. They are the leaders. They only infuse values to life, bring about changes through scientific innovations, explore the true nature of human beings, defy the rule of nature, creating new paths towards the fulfillment of human lives.
Our limitations are many but possibilities are numerous. Our instincts keep us bound and we strive to go out of these limitations. This struggle and aspiration combined with hard work and intelligent direction make a commoner a great one. When we continue to strive, we may fail at times, but it is impossible not to succeed most of the time.
At this institute, we would like to set in motion a process by which the dormant fire lying in us could be ignited and made dynamic.
