OUR PRIMARY NATURE

"Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship or psychic control, or philosophy, by one, or more or all of these - and be free. This is the whole of religion. Doctrines, dogmas; rituals, or books, or temples, or forms, are but secondary details."

OUR DESTINY

"You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will.  As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny"

- Brihadaranyaka Upanishid IV 4.5

Quest for God

a Poem by Swami Vivekananda

O'ver hill and dale and mountain range,
In temple, church, and mosque,
In Vedas, Bible, Al Koran
I had searched for Thee in vain.

Like a child in the wildest forest lost
I have cried and cried alone,
"Where art Thou gone, my God, my love?
The echo answered, "gone."

And days and nights and years then passed
A fire was in the brain,
I knew not when day changed in night
The heart seemed rent in twain.
I laid me down on Ganges's shore,
Exposed to sun and rain;
With burning tears I laid the dust
And wailed with waters' roar.

I called on all the holy names
Of every clime and creed.
"Show me the way, in mercy, ye
Great ones who have reached the goal."

Years then passed in bitter cry,
Each moment seemed an age,
Till one day midst my cries and groans
Some one seemed calling me.

A gentle soft and soothing voice
That said 'my son' 'my son',
That seemed to thrill in unison
With all the chords of my soul.

I stood on my feet and tried to find
The place the voice came from;
I searched and searched and turned to see
Round me, before, behind,
Again, again it seemed to speak
The voice divine to me.
In rapture all my soul was hushed,
Entranced, enthralled in bliss.......
OUR COMMITMENT

The days of dogmatic religions are on their way out. The sincere effort to transform one's basic instincts into a higher mode of living is being practiced by spiritual aspirants.  The outer ceremonial of religions is not necessary anymore for modern men, like a particular dress code, elaborate worshipping, or marks on the body. These formal documents will soon be redundant.

Each soul is potentially divine, so says Swami Vivekananda. We, at this center of learning and spiritual discipline, will try and help each individual to manifest his/her divinity through work, Asana, pranayama, meditation, study, and games. As all paths lead to the same goal, every individual will be free to nurture his/her spiritual progress by his/her inner spiritual urge. For this, a basic thirst for spiritual living is a must.

A Board of Trustees of this Institute will be looking after the management and fulfilling all legal and social obligations for which it has been constituted. The day-to-day activities will be looked after by a whole-time Executive Officer who will report the activities to the Board of Trustees once a year.

People having faith in Divine life will only be accepted.

Welcome Collaborators

There are and were many great men and women in this world. The proof is that since the advent of man on this planet, humanity has progressed considerably. The power of goodness is more than the power of negative forces. The contribution of great people has been and is so enormous that despite certain weak links, the civilization of humanity is moving forward. For instance, medical science, scientific discovery, spiritual realization, education, philosophy, sports, health and hygiene, communication, the standard of living, all are progressing. There is no denying the fact that today we live in a better world than our ancestors lived. Of course, many grey areas need to be taken care of before humanity can claim itself to be the best evolutionary species.

The credit goes to those great inventors, spiritual leaders, social revolutionaries, social reformers, political visionaries, statesmen of the past and the present.

I would feel very satisfied if this website could reach out to those people who are seeking spiritual knowledge that is being experienced and developed in India. My effort has been to build a center of excellence where people imbued with such spiritual knowledge will share their experiences and create a young band of workers who will eventually spread out throughout the country carrying the message of peace, knowledge, harmony, and simple living.

So, I appeal to all the scholars in East and West alike who feel drawn to a divine living to come and join in this endeavor.

Mind Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;Where knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--- Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

- a  poem by Rabindranath Tagore

"We are children of the Almightly, we are sparks of the infinite, divine fire. How can we be nothing? We are everything, ready to do everything, we can do everything and man must do everything. Therefore, my breathren, teach this life-saving, great ennobling, grand doctrine to your children, even from their very birth. This marvelous doctrine of the soul, the perfection of the soul, is commonly believed in by all sects."

What we want to do

This Institute aims to provide a congenial ambience for the inner growth of individual life in line with our spiritual culture of India.  At the same time, emphasis will be laid on acquiring the knowledge of secular sciences to keep pace with the present developments.  The goal is to realize the Truth that governs the whole universe and to recognize the spark that resides in every one of us.  The work we do at this Institute should be a reflection of those principles that make human beings divine.  No doubt the work before us is difficult but not impossible.  If we are determined to reach our goal, the realization of Truth would happen in a natural way.

We have one advantage and one disadvantage.  The advantage is the path already laid down by the great minds and the step-by-step process spelt out.  We have the blueprint before us and only to mold our life in that direction. The disadvantage is the difficulty in overcoming temptations of enjoyment that are laid before us by the 21st Century.

To establish the Institute, we need 10 acres of land Anywhere in Uttarakhand hills on a height between 1900 and 2100 meters.  We welcome any donation of land for this purpose or at a nominal cost.  Interested donors may contact either by email: divineinaction@gmail.com or mobile phone number: 8882050651 (Sukhendu Roy Chowdhury)

Igniting fire in you.
"If you want to build a ship, do not drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the immensity of the sea"

Antonine de saint Exupery
'We need a spirit of victory, a spirit that will carry us to our rightful place under the sun, a spirit which will recognize that we, as inheritors of a proud civilization, are entitled to a rightful place on this planet. If that indomitable spirit were to arise, nothing can hold us from achieving our rightful destiny.'
- Sir C V Raman
"Your country needs heroes; be heroes; your duty is to go on working and then everything will follow of itself"

I call him a traitor who, having been educated, nursed in luxury by the heart's blood of the downtrodden millions of toiling poor, never even takes a thought for them. Where, in what period of history your rich men, noblemen, your priests and potentates took any thought for the poor, the grinding of whose faces is the very life-blood of their power?
